Walk the house and pick the room with the fewest windows and one door. Interior bedroom beats the living room every time. Roll a towel against the door bottom. Tape a blanket or heavy tarp over the window. Move sleeping bags, a lantern, and water in. Bodies and one small heat source warm a tight space fast. Close every other door in the house.

Seal one room before bed
Tonight, pick your warm room and prep it in twenty minutes. Rolled towel at the door. Blanket over the window, taped or pinned. Carry in sleeping bags, a flashlight, and four bottles of water. Shut it up for an hour, then step in and feel the difference. Leave the towel and tape stored inside the room so setup takes two minutes next time.
