Pick Two Meeting Spots
A rally point is a place your household knows to meet. Pick one close spot and one farther spot.
The close spot might be a neighbor’s porch, a mailbox, or a large tree. The far spot might be a library, school, church, or relative’s home.
Write both places down. Do not rely on everyone remembering.
Choose Routes
Pick two routes to each place. Main roads can jam. Bridges can close. Flooded streets can block a normal drive.
Walk or drive the routes before you need them. Look for lights, sidewalks, safe crossings, and places that flood.
Leave Simple Messages
Phones can fail. Set a message plan. A paper note in a known spot can help, but do not leave private details where strangers can use them.
Use plain messages:
- We are safe
- We went to the far spot
- We are with neighbors
- Call this number
Keep a marker and tape in your home kit.
Practice Calm Movement
Tactical survival is mostly calm movement and clear choices. Do not run unless you must. Watch your footing. Keep hands free when possible.
If you have kids, practice as a normal walk. Fear makes practice harder.
What To Do Today
Spend ten minutes picking one close rally point and one far rally point.
Tell everyone in the house the names of both places.
